ISUZU NATIONAL SKILL CONTEST 2025: ELEVATING AFTER-SALES SERVICE WITH "TAKUMI × VALUE PROVIDER" SPIRIT

On July 5-6, 2025, at the Sky Expo Vietnam International Exhibition and Convention Center (Ho Chi Minh City), ISUZU Vietnam Co., Ltd. (ISUZU Vietnam) successfully organized the 21st ISUZU National Skill Contest. More than just an annual event, this was a significant milestone in improving after-sales service quality, realizing the strategy of becoming a “Value Provider” across the entire ISUZU system.

“TAKUMI × VALUE PROVIDER” – Continuously Improving Skills for Better Customer Service

The 21st ISUZU National Skill Contest gathered 76 outstanding contestants from 19 ISUZU dealerships nationwide, including technicians, service advisors, and parts specialists. The theme “TAKUMI × VALUE PROVIDER” for this year’s contest strongly affirms that excellent craftsmanship and the spirit of creating value for customers are the two elements that ISUZU Vietnam’s after-sales team steadfastly pursues.

“Takumi (匠)” is a familiar concept in Japanese culture, referring to skilled artisans who are dedicated to every detail, precise in every action, and always committed to the highest professional standards. This is also the image that ISUZU Vietnam aims for in its after-sales service team.

At the same time, the after-sales team at the dealership system is not merely individuals who perform maintenance or repairs; they are true “Value Providers” for customers. This value is demonstrated by keeping vehicles operating stably, maximizing vehicle uptime, and effectively supporting customers’ business operations.

Opening the event, Mr. Wataru Nakano – General Director of ISUZU Vietnam – shared: “To continuously improve and become true “Value Providers”, we need to focus on three important factors: Proposing optimal maintenance schedules to minimize unexpected breakdowns; Fast and accurate maintenance and repair; and finally, ensuring a timely and readily available supply of replacement parts

Skill Development, Service Enhancement

ISUZU National Skill Contest 2025 is not just an annual event; it is also a professional playground to test and enhance the professional capacity of ISUZU Vietnam’s after-sales team across the entire system. The contest content was designed to closely align with actual work and customer needs, helping contestants deepen their knowledge, gain practical experience, and refine their operational skills.

Over two days, contestants competed in the following main categories:

  • Theory test: This section assesses professional knowledge through questions related to Isuzu technical, the use of diagnostic equipment, periodic maintenance standards, spare parts inventory management, and more. This section required a firm grasp of technical information, standard procedures, and the ability to systematically analyze problems.

  • Consulting test: This section tested the communication skills, knowledge, and practical application of standard service procedures for Service Advisors & Part Advisor. This test focused on the ability to listen, understand customer inquiries, then provide professional consulting, and build trust with customers.

  • Team practical test: This section required the coordination of the entire team (technicians and advisors) to repair simulated malfunctions on ISUZU vehicles, from diagnosis to repair, and perform the maintenance follow to Isuzu standard. It requires whole team to have a clear understanding of the operating principles of all vehicle systems and to perform standard inspection procedures in order to complete the tasks within limit time.

After two days of fierce competition, the Contest selected the most outstanding individuals representing the “Takumi × Value Provider” spirit, with the following overall results:

  • First Prize: NGUYEN VIET DUY – ISUZU Trung Son
  • Second Prize: LE DANG KHOA – ISUZU Dai Thinh
  • Third Prize: TRAN QUOC DAT – ISUZU An Viet

  1. Spare Part Advisor Category:
  • First Prize: VU QUANG PHUC – ISUZU An Viet
  • Second Prize: DOAN VAN NGUYEN CHUONG – ISUZU Green Ka
  • Third Prize: NGUYEN GIA HUY – ISUZU Minh Nhi

  1. Technician Category:
  • First Prize: TRAN MINH TRI – ISUZU An Lac
  • Second Prize: DINH VAN HUY – ISUZU Thang Long
  • Third Prize: NGUYEN HUU NGHIA – ISUZU An Lac

  1. Team Award Category:
  • First Prize: ISUZU Dai Thinh
  • Second Prize: ISUZU Thang Long
  • Third Prize: ISUZU Loc Phat

In addition, the Organizing Committee also honored individuals who achieved outstanding results in training and improving the quality of after-sales human resources. Notably, this included Isuzu Dealer Trainer and Technicians/service advisors who achieved Level 4 in the 2025 promotion exam, recognizing their continuous efforts to enhance skills and expertise.

 Furthermore, ISUZU Vietnam team who achieved the 2nd prize at the I-1GP LCV (Isuzu World Technical Competition) were also invited to this event and received the gift and commendation. This prize prove the high skill & Vietnam spirit in the international competition.
